The Desert Christian Eagles waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 38-30 victory over Valley Union. This was payback for Desert Christian, who suffered a 33-25 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Desert Christian was led to victory by Addison Jones and Anika Mulkey. Jones scored eight points along with ten rebounds and six steals, while Mulkey scored 22 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mulkey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Charles, who scored two points along with five steals.
Desert Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Valley Union, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Desert Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Valley Union won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. David at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. St. David is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
