Smithville is 8-0 against Ruskin since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Smithville Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Ruskin Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Smithville's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Ruskin has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Even though Winnetonka scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, Smithville still came out on top. Smithville walked away with a 64-55 victory over Winnetonka. Given Smithville's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Winnetonka is ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Ruskin had to suffer through a rough 52-10 loss at the hands of Grandview. Ruskin has not had much luck with Grandview recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Smithville has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Ruskin, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Smithville against Ruskin when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 64-31 win. Does Smithville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ruskin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
