The Pearl City Chargers will square off against the Campbell Sabers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pearl City's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Campbell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Pearl City is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Hawaii's top teams: 'Aiea, who was ranked 15th at the time (Pearl City was ranked 13th). Pearl City walked away with a 6-3 win over 'Aiea on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Noah Bernal made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Pearl City is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4-2 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Ian Wicklund looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Pearl City is undefeated when Wicklund allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-4-2 otherwise.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Campbell brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Waipahu on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Sabers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Campbell let Jayden Pacariem and Kalaeloa Kalua run wild. Pacariem scored a run while going 4-for-4, while Kalua scored four runs while going 1-for-4. Jonah Yacap was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
Pearl City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Campbell, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-5.
Pearl City couldn't quite get it done against Campbell in their previous matchup on March 8th as they fell 6-1. Will Pearl City have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
