After two weeks on the road, Pea Ridge is heading back home. On Friday they will take on Berryville at 7:00 PM. Both teams have set a high bar for this game after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests.
Pea Ridge might be getting used to good results now that the team has five wins in a row. They were able to grind out a solid win over Prairie Grove last Friday, winning 38-29. No one put up better numbers for Pea Ridge than senior Carson Rhine, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns. Near the top of the highlight reel was Rhine's 52-yard TD bomb to Trevor Blair in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing seven points in their last matchup, Berryville made sure to put some points up on the board against Gravette. Berryville took the matchup and then some with a 42-7 victory over Gravette. The rankings were on Berryville's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Their wins bumped Berryville to 3-4 and Pea Ridge to 5-2. The Pea Ridge defense got after the quarterback against Prairie Grove to the tune of six sacks, so Berryville's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the contest.
