The Ranchview Wolves will be home for the holidays to greet the North Forney Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ranchview is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Ranchview ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They escaped with a win against Pinkston by the margin of a single free throw, 51-50. The win was just what Ranchview needed coming off of a 58-15 loss in their prior match.
Ranchview had a senior duo take command as Christina Mokom scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and Alexis Simpson scored 12 points. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kennady Watson, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, North Forney came up short against Royse City on Friday and fell 48-37. While losing is never fun, North Forney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Royse City is ranked 58th).
Ranchview's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for North Forney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.
