The South Warren Spartans couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-41 walloping at the hands of Daviess County on Tuesday. South Warren lost against Daviess County in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 46-42 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daviess County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoey Beehn, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Lane, who scored 23 points along with 3 steals.
South Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Daviess County, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
South Warren won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Apollo at 7:30 p.m. on November 29th. Apollo and South Warren are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Daviess County, they will be playing at home against Meade County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Meade County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday.
