Edison Eagles (Edison, NJ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball team get by the visiting Old Bridge Knights (Old Bridge, NJ), 5-4 in a league match.

The Eagles (5-6) will now prepare for their match against North Hunterdon (Annandale, NJ). The Lions go into the non-league match with a 3-0 record. In their last match, North Hunterdon tipped Manalapan (Englishtown, NJ), 3-2, in a non-league match.

The Knights (5-5) will now prepare for their match against Middlesex (Middlesex, NJ). The Bluejays go into the non-league match with a 10-0 record. In their last match, Middlesex tipped South River (South River, NJ), 9-2, in a league match.

Joe Neri overcame a tough first inning and pitched 6 strong innings. The offense was led again by Chris Chiodo who collected two hits and scored a run. Sean Blair knocked in a run. Dean Roventini broke out of his mini slump and collected two hits and scored two runs. Michael Stryker smashed his first double of the season and scored on a passed ball. George Pagan had two rbis including the go ahead run in the 7th inning. Neri and the Knights came up just short as Edison put together a rally in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two runs for the win. Tough loss. 5-5 doesnt sound that bad but 7-3 should be the reality.
