Spectators at Monday's league battle between the Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) and the visiting San Jon Coyotes (San Jon, NM), witnessed Melrose's baseball team gain a win over San Jon by a score of 11-1.
The Buffaloes (14-5) will now prepare for their match against Logan (Logan, NM). The Longhorns go into the 1A District 3 match with a 8-11 record. In their last match, Logan was overwhelmed by Floyd (Floyd, NM), 6-2, in a league match.
The Coyotes (5-11) will now prepare for their match against Tucumcari (Tucumcari, NM). The Rattlers go into the non-league match with a 12-9 record.
