Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hatch Valley Bears (Hatch, NM), 60-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cloudcroft upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Bears travel to Hondo Valley (Hondo, NM) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 8. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 9-0. Hondo Valley won 82-31 in their recent non-league bout against Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM)

Next up, the Bears clash with the Estancia Bears (Estancia, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 6. Hatch Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 64-59 non-league win over Native American Community Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
