The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Des Moines Demons (Des Moines, NM) and the visiting Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM), observed Des Moines's basketball team edge Maxwell by a score of 62-61.

The Demons (10-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Cimarron (Cimarron, NM). The Rams come into the A District 5 challenge with a 19-4 record. In their last challenge, Cimarron edged Springer (Springer, NM), 84-59, in a league battle.

The Bears now own a 8-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Roy/Mosquero for a A District 5 battle on Thursday, February 19. Maxwell will meet a Blue/Lady Blue squad coming off a 61-32 league win over Des Moines (Des Moines, NM). The Blue/Lady Blue record now stands at 17-6.
