Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Dexter Demons (Dexter, NM) and the visiting Portales Rams (Portales, NM), saw Dexter's basketball squad knock off Portales by a score of 57-44.

With the victory, Dexter improves its record to 16-8 on the campaign. The Demons host New Mexico Military Institute (Roswell, NM) to battle the Colts in a 2A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, February 14. The Colts come into the challenge with a record of 9-14. New Mexico Military Institute lost 42-31 in their recent league challenge against Loving (Loving, NM)

Next up, the Rams battle the Ruidoso Warriors (Ruidoso, NM) in a 3A District 4 challenge, on Friday, February 17. Portales will attempt to improve on its 11-14 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 12-17 record after their 67-45 non-league win over Cobre (Bayard, NM).
