The Grants Pirates (Grants, NM) basketball crushed the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), 81-53 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Pirates (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Miyamura (Gallup, NM). The Patriots go into the non-league test with a 3-5 record. In their last test, Miyamura was trounced by Aztec (Aztec, NM), 53-40, in a non-league test.

The Hawks now own a 8-2 record. They play next when they travel to Foothill for a non-league test on Friday, December 19. Thoreau will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 48-37 non-league win over Animas (Animas, NM). The Falcons record now stands at 1-2.
