Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Roy/Mosquero (Roy, NM), 76-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Maxwell upgrades its record to 22-1 on the season. The Bears host Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM) to play the Lobos in a non-league bout on Friday, February 16. The Lobos go into the bout with a record of 13-11. Escalante lost 83-66 in their recent league bout against Mora (Mora, NM)

Next up, the play the Des Moines Demons (Des Moines, NM) in a A District 5 bout, on Friday, February 16. Roy/Mosquero will attempt to upgrade on its 5-19 season record. The Demons go into the bout with a 6-17 record after their 79-34 league loss to Cimarron (Cimarron, NM).
