Springer Red Devils (Springer, NM) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM), 74-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Springer upgrades its record to 19-4 on the campaign. The Red Devils travel to Roy Municipal Schools (Roy, NM) to play the Longhorns in a 1A District 5 bout on Saturday, February 13. The Longhorns come into the bout with a record of 3-15. Roy Municipal Schools lost 70-42 in their recent league bout against Cimarron (Cimarron, NM)

Next up, the Bears play the Des Moines Demons (Des Moines, NM) in a 1A District 5 bout, on Saturday, February 13. Maxwell will attempt to upgrade on its 16-5 season record. The Demons come into the bout with a 5-15 record after their 57-38 non-league loss to Mosquero (Mosquero, NM).
