Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Springer Devils (Springer, NM), 90-80 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Penasco upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, NM) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 31. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 12-3. Santa Rosa lost 55-48 in their recent non-league bout against Mora (Mora, NM)

Next up, the Devils play the Des Moines Demons (Des Moines, NM) in a 1A District 1 bout, on Friday, January 25. Springer will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Demons come into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 51-50 non-league win over Clayton (Clayton, NM).
