The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) and the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), observed Tohatchi's basketball team overwhelm Thoreau by a score of 64-43.

The Cougars (17-5) will now prepare for their battle against Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM). The Eagles enter the 3A District 1 battle with a 4-16 record. In their last battle, Crownpoint walloped Ramah (Ramah, NM), 46-42, in a non-league battle.

The Hawks now own a 10-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Laguna Acoma for a non-league battle on Friday, February 6. Thoreau will battle a Hawks team coming off a 72-53 league loss to Ramah (Ramah, NM). The Hawks record now stands at 4-15.
