Fort Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM), 72-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Fort Wingate upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Bears host Miyamura (Gallup, NM) to play the Patriots in a 3A District 1 bout on Wednesday, February 4. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 1-15. Miyamura lost 70-47 in their recent league bout against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Bloomfield Bobcats (Bloomfield, NM) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Friday, February 6. Zuni will attempt to upgrade on its 3-16 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 15-5 record after their 65-33 league win over Miyamura (Gallup, NM).
