The Shiprock Chieftains routed the host Thoreau Hawks softball squad by a count of 15-1 in Thursday's league battle.

The Chieftains (7-9) will now prepare for their battle against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM). The Hawks go into the 4A District 1 battle with a 3-7 record. In their last battle, Thoreau was routed by St. Michael (St. Michael, AZ), 21-5, in a non-league battle.

The Hawks now sport a 3-8 record. They play next when they host Shiprock for a 4A District 1 battle on Thursday, April 2. Thoreau will meet a Chieftains squad coming off a 15-0 league loss to Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Chieftains record now stands at 6-9.
