The Zuni Thunderbirds softball team scored 12 runs and held the visiting Thoreau Hawks to 2 in the Thunderbirds league win on Wednesday.

Next, the Thunderbirds meet the Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Wednesday, April 22. Zuni will attempt to upgrade on its 5-15 season record. The Hawks go into the challenge with a 5-11 record after their 17-1 non-league win over Northwest (Shiprock, NM).

The Hawks (5-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Thunderbirds go into the 3A District 1 challenge with a 4-15 record. In their last challenge, Zuni was routed by Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM), 15-3, in a league challenge.
