The Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) volleyball overcame the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), 3-0 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Shiprock upgrades its record to 11-4 on the year. The Chieftains travel to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM) to face the Bobcats in a 4A District 1 outing on Tuesday, October 20. The Bobcats go into the outing with a record of 7-7. Bloomfield lost 3-1 in their recent league outing against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM)

The Hawks now own a 2-13 record. They play next when they host East Mountain for a non-league outing on Saturday, October 17. Thoreau will face a Timberwolves squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Portales (Portales, NM). The Timberwolves record now stands at 4-11.
