Newark Valley Cardinals (Newark Valley, NY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Dryden Lions (Dryden, NY), 66-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Newark Valley upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Cardinals host Waverly (Waverly, NY) to play the Wolverines in a Section 4 Interscholastic I bout on Tuesday, February 10. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Waverly won 49-36 in their recent league bout against Lansing (Lansing, NY)

Next up, the Lions play the Notre Dame Crusaders (Elmira, NY) in a Section 4 Interscholastic I bout, on Tuesday, February 10. Dryden will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 79-41 league win over Dickerson (Trumansburg, NY).
