Plattsburgh Hornets (Plattsburgh, NY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Northeastern Clinton Cougars (Champlain, NY), 53-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Plattsburgh upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Hornets host Saranac Lake (Saranac Lake, NY) to play the Red Storm in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 10. The Red Storm come into the bout with a record of 1-9. Saranac Lake lost 70-46 in their recent league bout against Ticonderoga (Ticonderoga, NY)

Next up, the Cougars play the Northern Adirondack Bobcats (Ellenburg Depot, NY) in a Section 7 Champlain Valley II bout, on Thursday, January 10. Northeastern Clinton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 72-57 non-league win over Seton Catholic Central (Plattsburgh, NY).
