Dunkirk runs down the final seconds of the Section VI Class B championship game against Southwestern on March 11, 2020 at Buffalo State College. The Lady Marauders erased a 20-point deficit by outscoring Southwestern 35-2 over the final 9:00 to win by a 75-62 score and finish the season with a record of 24-1. Dunkirk would not get the opportunity to play in the NYSPHSAA Tournament, as the COVID-19 pandemic prematurely ended the 2019-2020 high school sports season in New York.

Dunkirk senior Kymi Nance continued to fuel her team's comeback against Southwestern in the 4th quarter of the Section VI Class B championship game on March 11, 2020 at Buffalo State. Here, in a span of eight seconds, she drives for a layup, then gets a steal and finds senior Olivia Smith for a basket. The sequence pulled the Lady Marauders within two points, 60-58 with 5:13 remaining in the game.

Bucket, Steal and Assist from Nance Brings Dunkirk within Two

Dunkirk led Iroquois 79-76 with 2.0 seconds remaining in the Section VI Class B-1 championship game at Buffalo State College on March 8, 2020. Here, the Lady Chiefs try to tie the game at the buzzer, but Emily McLaughlin's desperation heave from beyond halfcourt misses the target. The miss cemented Dunkirk's victory, giving the school its first Section VI girls basketball championship since 1991.
