With 10.5 seconds remaining, Chiefs sophomore Zoey Zienski had a chance to tie the game at the free throw line. She had made the first shot to make it a 77-76 game. Here, Zienski misses the second free throw. Senior Logan Streety then grabs an offensive rebound and tries to give Iroquois the lead, but her putback is off the mark. Dunkirk senior Nadara O'dell secures the defensive board to preserve the Dunkirk lead with 5.8 seconds left.

Dunkirk runs down the final seconds of the Section VI Class B championship game against Southwestern on March 11, 2020 at Buffalo State College. The Lady Marauders erased a 20-point deficit by outscoring Southwestern 35-2 over the final 9:00 to win by a 75-62 score and finish the season with a record of 24-1. Dunkirk would not get the opportunity to play in the NYSPHSAA Tournament, as the COVID-19 pandemic prematurely ended the 2019-2020 high school sports season in New York.

The bucket helped keep the Lady Marauders withing striking distance, as Southwestern led 39-33 at halftime. O'dell had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds and finished her high school career as Dunkirk's #2 all-time leading scorer with an unofficial total of 1,156 points. Beehler finished the contest with a double-double of her own; she had 15 points and 11 boards to go with seven assists and three steals.

It was one of 11 assists on the day for Beehler, while O'dell finished with a team-high 22 points to go with 10 rebounds and six steals.

The bucket was part of a career-high 34-point effort from O'dell as the Lady Marauders won 82-70 to improve their overall record to 14-1.
