The crowd at Friday's league match between the Peru Indians (Peru, NY) and the visiting Northeastern Clinton Cougars (Champlain, NY), saw Peru's softball squad nip Northeastern Clinton by a count of 11-5.

The Indians now sport a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Norwood-Norfolk for a non-league match on Saturday, May 7. Peru will face a Flyers squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over St. Lawrence Central (Brasher Falls, NY). The Flyers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Northeastern Clinton falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Ticonderoga (Ticonderoga, NY) to face the Sentinels in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I match on Monday, May 9. The Sentinels enter the match with a record of 5-1. Ticonderoga lost 2-1 in their recent non-league match against Lake George (Lake George, NY)
