The Brooklyn Hurricanes crushed the visiting Oberlin The Phoenix baseball team by a tally of 12-2 in Monday's league bout.
The Hurricanes now hold a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lutheran West for a Patriot bout on Wednesday, April 18. Brooklyn will clash with a Longhorns team coming off a 20-5 league loss to Clearview (Lorain, OH). The Longhorns record now stands at 1-5.
The The Phoenix (6-5) will now prepare for their game against Fairview (Fairview Park, OH). The Warriors go into the Patriot game with a 2-8 record. In their last game, Fairview was overwhelmed by Columbia (Columbia Station, OH), 9-3, in a league game.




Oberlin falls 12-2 to Brooklyn despite McMillin's effort
Despite Liam McMillin's 2-3 performance at the plate on Tuesday, Oberlin took a 12-2 loss at the hands of Brooklyn.
Two of Oberlin's runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by McMillin. He singled in the first and third innings.
McComas got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over five innings. The Brooklyn pitcher struck out six, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
The top of the first saw Oberlin take an early lead, 1-0. A single by McMillin, plating Tyler Buga started the inning off.
The lead stayed with Brooklyn after the second, when it scored three runs on a two-run double by McComas and a wild pitch.
Brooklyn tacked on another two runs in the third. Martin doubled, bringing home Baker to start the inning. That was followed up by an error that scored Martin.
Brooklyn increased its lead with seven runs in the fourth. A double by Sommers ignited the offense,, plating McComas and Baker.
