StrengthsThe Pirates are coming off a 13-10 season, which only lost 3 seniors to graduation. Black River has four seniors and one junior with significant varsity time, returning 11 letterwinners, with 6 of those being in the core line-up a year ago that will not stop this team from surprising its opponents. The team will be paced by 4-year varsity starter and District 3, Division VI Player of the Year Remington Dieter at the Libero position. The Black and Gold are looking to make a competitive showing in the top of the LC8 (Lorain County League 8) conference behind the powerful swings of M. Biddle, J. Dieter, Bailey, A. Biddle, Blicha, and Czarny, with the court being run by M. Kubitz, and with a solid defensive core of the Dieter twins - Remington (Mount Union Commit) and Kate (Defiance College Commit) and Moskal.
Overall, the Pirate Volleyball Program is boasting strong numbers, with 35 girls out for the Freshman, JV, and Varsity squads.
