I grew up in Colorado and have been shooting sports photos since high school. After a career in photography covering sports, photojournalism, and corporate photography I am now semi retired and living in Hawaii on the Big Island. Covering prep sports has always been one of my favorite assignments, even though I have shot numerous NFL, NHL, and NBA playoff games. There is still something indescribably electric and magical about both the athletes and spectators at a high school contest. It is a different vibe when the players are competing for the love of the game vs. professional sports.
My photographs have appeared in The New York Times, ESPN Magazine, Sports Illustrated for Kids, The Denver Post, Boston Globe, Associated Press, United Press International, and numerous Super Bowl programs and NFL Team calendars. I covered the NFL for over 10 years as a contract sports photographer for the NFL Properties Photo Agency.
