Alpine Bucks (Alpine, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Tornillo Coyotes (Tornillo, TX), 46-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Alpine upgrades its record to 10-11 on the campaign. The Bucks host Kermit (Kermit, TX) to play the Yellow Jackets in a 2A Region I District 4 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a record of 17-6. Kermit won 55-33 in their recent league bout against Crane (Crane, TX)

Next up, the Coyotes play the Crane Cranes (Crane, TX) in a 2A Region I District 4 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Tornillo will attempt to upgrade on its 20-8 season record. The Cranes come into the bout with a 3-14 record after their 55-33 league loss to Kermit (Kermit, TX).
