Marshall Mavericks (Marshall, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), 13-3 in a league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lufkin for a 5A Region II District 16 challenge on Friday, March 22. Marshall will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 18-0 league win over John Tyler (Tyler, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 6-10.

With the loss, Pine Tree falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Pirates host John Tyler (Tyler, TX) to battle the Lions in a 5A Region II District 16 challenge on Friday, March 22.
