The Wampus Cats (4-9) will now prepare for their contest against Covington (Covington, TX). The Owls enter the non-league contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Covington was beaten by Overton (Overton, TX), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Holland Hornets (Holland, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, September 3. Marlin will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Hornets enter the contest with a 0-6 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Navasota (Navasota, TX).
