In a rare non-league home game, the Bulldogs played host to the Cheney's (Class 2A) JV squad, losing 5-3 in 7 innings. Junior Brandon Thomas (2-3) took the no-decision after throwing 5 strong innings. He left with a 3-2 lead after allowing 2 hits, 5 strikeouts and 8 walks. Both of his runs were earned. Senior Brent McNeil (0-2) came on in relief and, after allowing 3 runs in the 6th, finished with a 1-2-3 7th. He took the loss. Offensively, the Dawgs were paced by junior catcher Logan Cook, who blasted his first home run of the season (a 2-run shot) in the bottom of the 3rd inning. He also added an RBI single in 5th and finished a perfect 2-for-2 with 3 RBI, a walk and a stolen base. McNeil was 1-for-1 with a stolen base, while junior Nathan Disque was 1-for-3 with a double.
