Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mariner Marauders (Everett, WA), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Jackson for a 4A Wesco challenge on Monday, April 4. Mount Vernon will face a Timberwolves squad coming off a 20-1 non-league win over Cascade (Leavenworth, WA). The Timberwolves record now stands at 8-0.

With the loss, Mariner falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Marauders host Kamiak (Mukilteo, WA) to face the Knights in a 4A Wesco challenge on Friday, April 1. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Kamiak lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Jackson (Mill Creek, WA)
