Mississippi High School Basketball - Newton holds off Southeast Lauderdale
December 4, 2015: Meridian, MS 39301 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) and the host Southeast Lauderdale Tigers (Meridian, MS), saw Newton's basketball squad hold off Southeast Lauderdale by a tally of 57-54.
With the victory, Newton improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS) to confront the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 8. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 2-3. Northeast Lauderdale won 53-37 in their recent non-league challenge against Lake (Lake, MS)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 8. Southeast Lauderdale will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 47-43 non-league win over Meridian (Meridian, MS).
