In Friday's non-league outing, the Hayfield Hawks (Alexandria, VA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA), by a margin of 70-53.

The Hawks (1-3) will now prepare for their outing against Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA). The Majors go into the AAA National outing with a 2-1 record. In their last outing, Mount Vernon topped Trinity Christian (Fairfax, VA), 73-44, in a non-league outing.

The Spartans now own a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Robinson for a non-league outing on Tuesday, December 11. West Springfield will confront a Rams team coming off a 55-41 non-league win over Lake Braddock (Burke, VA). The Rams record now stands at 3-1.
