Brooke Gilcrest

Brooke Gilcrest has been named player of the year. "Brooke was instrumental in leading us to a WYL Championship and a 28-10 season record at Redwood! She recorded double digit kills in over half the matches she played in, which includes every league match. She had over 400 hundred kills half of which were scored during our 12 league matches. Brooke also had 8 matches of 20 kills or more throughout the season, of which 6 of these were during league play. And this is just her strongest skill, she also contributed in an impressive 94% serving percentage, 44 recorded blocks and 159 season digs. I have been coaching 40 years and she is one of the top players I have ever coached. Brooke is hard working, leads quietly by example, and has strong experience and knowledge of the game. She is also a great teammate and wonderful person. Her character on and off the court is truly amazing! Brooke is also an excellent student with a high GPA, her goal is to go to college and become a pediatrician!"
