St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) captured its 10th straight state championship last week, but it wasn't enough to move into the No. 2 spot in the MaxPreps south region football computer rankings.
Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) won the Class AAAAAAA state championship over Roswell and maintained its spot at No. 2 - 0.4 points ahead of St. Thomas Aquinas, which moved up from No. 5 to No. 3.
IMG Academy, which concluded its season over three weeks ago, remains at No. 1.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The South region includes teams from Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Kentucky, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
