Scouting report: Like Oklahoma City's NBA franchise, the Douglass High School basketball team has a chance to be a big story this winter. And like the Thunder with Kevin Durant, Douglass has a superstar on the rise leading the way.
Behind the play of then-freshman Clark (17.5 points, 3.2 assists per game) the Trojans beat opponents down by an average margin of over 24 points per game en route to Oklahoma's 4A state title. Incredibly, they did it without a single senior on the roster.
Clark will be joined once again by double-digit scorers Romond Jenkins (12.1 points per game), Smith (11.3), Williams (11.2) and Buxton-Hill (10.5). Ramond Jenkins, Romond's twin, gives Douglass another athletic inside presence.
After getting all but one win in-state a year ago, the Trojans are branching out in a big way this season. Trips to the Beach Ball Classic in South Carolina and Bass Pro Tournament of Champions are scheduled, as well as showcase showdowns with Texas powers Berkner and Flower Mound Marcus.
