On the one-year anniversary of the 107-90 contest between Meadville (Pa.) and DuBois (Pa.), a pair of Utah teams put up record-breaking numbers with
Jordan (Sandy) edging
Taylorsville 91-83.
While the Utah High School Activities Association Sports Record Book does not list a record for highest combined score, only 10 teams have scored over 100 points in a game and the highest scoring game is a 175-6 win for Carbon over South Emery in 1926.
Both quarterbacks set new state records for touchdowns accounted for in a single game.
Jordan quarterback
Crew Wakley threw seven touchdown passes and had four rushing touchdowns. He had runs of 7, 82, 33 and 4 yards and he had touchdown passes of 5, 69, 5, 63, 11, 59 and 80 yards.
