The Hampton Bulldogs tipped the visiting Stephens Roadrunners basketball team by a final score of 55-51 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Bulldogs face the De Queen Leopards (De Queen, AR) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, December 11. Hampton will attempt to improve on its 4-0 season record. The Leopards come into the battle with a 1-2 record after their 66-58 league loss to Arkadelphia (Arkadelphia, AR).

The Roadrunners (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Nevada (Rosston, AR). The Blue Jays come into the non-league battle with a 5-1 record. In their last battle, Nevada edged Minden (Minden, LA), 58-37, in a non-league battle.

Quarter 1

We came out trying to hard,nervous tension etc. Stephens Came out hitting on all cylinders as they jumped out to a 14 to 5 1st. qtr. lead.

Quarter 2

Second qtr., was roll reversal as we took outscoring them 20 to 8 for a halftime score of 25 to 22.

Quarter 3

The second half was more even as we had a one point difference in the third qtr. 17 to 16 as the Bulldogs went in to the fourth qtr. with a 4 point margin.

Quarter 4

That four point margin ended up being enough although the game was tied four times during the fourth qtr. The bulldogs were led in scoring by Edwin Ward with 17 points and Dakota Scott with 15 points as Hampton starts 1-0 in conference play. Next up for Hampton is Dequeen, in the Magnolia High school tournament.
