In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Viola Longhorns (Viola, AR) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Salem Greyhounds (Salem, AR), by a count of 54-17.

The Longhorns (5-2) will now prepare for their outing against Izard County (Brockwell, AR). The Cougars go into the 1A Region 2 North outing with a 3-8 record. In their last outing, Izard County was crushed by Hillcrest (Jacksonville, AR), 52-31, in a league outing.

The Greyhounds now hold a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mammoth Spring for a non-league outing on Friday, December 11. Salem will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 64-47 non-league win over West Side (Greers Ferry, AR). The Bears record now stands at 8-0.
