In Saturday's non-league game, the visiting Miami Vandals baseball team scored a tight 8-7 victory over the Thatcher Eagles.
The Vandals (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Florence (Florence, AZ). The Gophers come into the 3A South challenge with a 6-0 record.
With the defeat, Thatcher falls to 1-3 on the season. The Eagles travel to Ray (Kearny, AZ) to encounter the Bearcats in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 10. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.
