Juan Luna has been named player of the year. "Offensive stats: .333 batting average, 75 at-bats (Led the team), 20 runs scored, 25 total hits, 14 RBI's (led team), 3 doubles, 2 triples, 13 walks (led team on BB's), .444 on-base percentage, 4 of 5 stolen bases and an unbelievable streak of 24 straight games without a single strike out, striking out 1 time the entire season (26 games). Defensive stats: .975 fielding percentage (5th best in section) on 120 total chances, 62 putouts and 55 assists (second in section) and only 3 errors (tied 4th in section). Juan played multiple positions including P, C, 2B, SS, 1B and did a great job at every position and always stepped up whenever he was called on. As a pitcher, Juan finished with 3 wins, 5.05 ERA, 5 complete games, 1 shutout, 28 K's, and held hitters to a .289 BA on 44 innings pitched. Juan was also a team captain this year, team M.V.P., 2nd Team All-Section selection and now Player of the Year! Juan is a tremendous leader and person and we wish him the best. Congratulations Juan!"
