Cynthia Acevedo has been named player of the year. "Cynthia was chosen as the player of the year for South Mountain because of her leadership, her statistics, and her determination. Cynthia ended the year with the team lead in batting average (.453), hits (29), singles (22), doubles (7), and RBIs (23). What ever was asked of her, she did without hesitation. She pitched even though she never pitched before, but she volunteered and did her best. She played and pitched through injury, giving her teammates a positive role model to follow. Cynthia is the kind of player that any coach would love to have 10 of on their team. But since there is only one Cynthia Acevedo, we are fortunate to have her on our team."
