Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Douglas Bulldogs (Douglas, AZ), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they host Willcox for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 10. Safford will battle a Cowboys squad coming off a 6-4 non-league loss to Palo Verde Valley (Blythe, CA). The Cowboys record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Douglas falls to 7-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Desert View (Tucson, AZ) to battle the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 11. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Desert View won 20-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Catalina (Tucson, AZ)
