Amuri Apenge has been named player of the year. "Congratulations to Amuri Apenge for earning Player of The Year! Amuri showed great leadership on and of the field as team co-captain. Amuri would also be responsible with getting the word out to team members on future events. Amuri started his career here at Amphi as a freshman playing on the JV team but quickly earned his way to the varsity team in his sophomore year. Amuri's role grew as a junior as a starting defensive back, part of a great back four that went to the state quarter finals. As a senior Amuri was team co-captain leading the team to another state playoff berth. Amuri also excelled in the classroom always staying grade eligible never had to worry about his grades. As a fierce competitor on the pitch, it was always a joy to watch Amuri's great soccer skills dominate opponents, it was not easy to get by Amuri! Amuri will join a group of elite soccer players here at Amphi the best of the best to be call Player of The Year Great job Amuri a title well deserved! "
