Yara Gomez Zavala has been named player of the year. "Yara Gomez Zavala is Menlo-Atherton's Player of the Year for the 2018-19 girls soccer season. Yara led her team to a 3rd straight PAL title and into the Open Division of the CCS playoffs where they ultimately fell to Leland High School. For her efforts, Yara was voted as the PAL Midfielder of the Year for the 2nd consecutive year. Aside from her stats, Yara is an amazing teammate and leads by example. She exudes good sportsmanship and is respected by her opponents and game officials alike. Congratulations Yara, very well deserved honor!"
