Strathmore Spartans (Strathmore, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the host Avenal Buccaneers (Avenal, CA), 56-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Strathmore upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Spartans host Corcoran (Corcoran, CA) to play the Panthers in a East Sequoia bout on Wednesday, January 21. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 13-6. Corcoran won 65-47 in their recent non-league bout against Roosevelt (Fresno, CA)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Kings Christian Crusaders (Lemoore, CA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 20. Avenal will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Crusaders come into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 74-32 non-league loss to Liberty (Madera, CA).
