Murrieta Valley Nighthawks (Murrieta, CA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Compton Tarbabes (Compton, CA), 68-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Murrieta Valley upgrades its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Nighthawks host Valencia (Valencia, CA) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 30. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 1-11. Valencia lost 66-63 in their recent non-league bout against St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs, CA)

Next up, the Tarbabes play the Canyon Comanches (Anaheim, CA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 30. Compton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Comanches come into the bout with a 13-3 record after their 55-54 non-league win over Clovis North (Fresno, CA).
