Paramount Pirates (Paramount, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Downey Vikings (Downey, CA), 59-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Paramount upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Pirates host Warren (Downey, CA) to clash with the Bears in a San Gabriel Valley bout on Monday, January 7. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 11-4. Warren won 72-65 in their recent league bout against Lynwood (Lynwood, CA)

Next up, the Vikings clash with the Lynwood Knights (Lynwood, CA) in a San Gabriel Valley bout, on Wednesday, January 9. Downey will attempt to upgrade on its 14-5 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 65-62 league win over Gahr (Cerritos, CA).
